Fast-paced action movie in which a high-flying politician's past as an NSA operative threatens to derail his new career. Chip Majors (James DuMont) is the Governor of Louisiana and everyone's top tip to be the Vice Presidential nominee of Presidential hopeful Senator Edmonds (Steven Bauer). Majors' past threatens to catch up with him, however, when a remorseless group, led by Graham (Billy Zane), launches a series of bids to assassinate him. A frantic battle for survival ensues, in which Majors will need to draw on all his former skills to make it through. Salvaging his political career from the secrets of his past may well be another matter.

Stinson's stunning, redemptive first novel, set in 1976, follows a runaway who ends up working in a strip club and falls for a drug dealer, who spirals into addiction and becomes physically abusive.
